DiverCity
The principal aim of the Training Course was to create an international
opportunity for youth workers and NGO’s working with young people
with less opportunities to develop skills, knowledge and new methodologies
in order to use cultural, artistic and multimedia tools in the youth
work at local level and in international youth projects under the framework
of the “Youth
in Action Programme”. The project gave a different approach to
use such kind of tools and methodologies in order to dynamize young people,
to facilitate their inclusion, to increase active citizenship and participation
and to fight against discrimination of any kind. The international crew
worked together for one week in Chieti through the realization of different
multimedia workshops (audio – video – photo/graphic, reports
on the web) together with the opportunity of daily meeting with several
social realities, people and places of Chieti. This environment gave
the possibility to create a mix of cultural expressions related each
other by the use both of multimedia tools and the story of Pinocchio
as main references to follow during the activities, a sort of thin red
line, in order to combine/link youth work, multimedia and art through
the creation of some media products and multimedia scenes for the final
event. The result of this different path has
been represented in the archeological site of “Roman Temples” of
Chieti, within the framework of “DiverCity” (video,
12 min) that took place on 30th May 2008, through a video,
audio and photographic exposition representing in a contemporary way
three different parts of the book “The adventure of Pinocchio” written
by Carlo Collodi.
